FREE YOUTH WRESTLING CLINIC TO TAKE PLACE
AT SAVVIS CENTER MARCH 15
CLINIC IS HELD IN CONJUNCTION WITH 2005 NCAA DIVISION I
WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIPS MARCH 17-19
ST. LOUIS — March 4, 2005 — Youth wrestlers have the opportunity to learn from the nation's top coaches and student-athletes, and practice on the same mats that will be used for the 2005 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships at a free wrestling clinic on Tuesday, March 15 at Savvis Center.
The NCAA's Youth Education through Sports (YES) wrestling clinic is open to boys and girls ages 10-18 and will take place from 6 – 9 p.m. Parents are also invited to participate in panel discussions in which local experts discuss issues related to youth sports, such as coaching, nutrition, sportsmanship and injury prevention.
The clinic is also hosted by the NCAA, St. Louis Sports Commission and the University of Missouri. To register, call 314-992-0647 or visit www.stlsports.org/wrestling and click on the YES Clinics link.
YES Clinics are held at sites of selected NCAA Championships. At the wrestling YES clinic, participants will learn and practice mental and physical skill development and connect with other young athletes from the area. The instructors will teach wrestlers the crucial elements of their sport, such as discipline, confidence, and commitment in ways that will enable them to apply what they learn to an athletics setting or to other areas of their lives.
