SPORTS FOR KIDS TO HOST FREE
BASEBALL COACHES CLINIC JUNE 18

MISSOURI BAPTIST UNIVERSITY
ST. LOUIS June 14, 2005 The St. Louis Sports Commission's Sports for Kids program is swinging into action on Saturday, June 18 to host a free baseball coaches clinic at Missouri Baptist University. The instructional clinic focuses on the fundamentals of baseball, sportsmanship, nutrition, and proper motivation of youth athletes.
Sports for Kids is teaming up with the Taco Bell Coaches Club to host the clinic from 8:30 a.m. 12:30 p.m. at the Muncie Athletic Complex. Missouri Baptist baseball coach Eddie Uschold is the featured instructor.
Coaches and parents may register by calling 314-992-0689 or logging on to www.stlsports.org/kids. Every coach that attends the clinic will receive a free Sports for Kids clipboard.
Sports for Kids is honored to have coach Uschold leading the clinic, said Troye Frank, the Sports Commission's director of youth programs. The role that youth coaches play in shaping their athletes' lives both on and off the field cannot be underestimated. By emphasizing the importance of sportsmanship and providing invaluable baseball skills instruction, we are helping each individual coach to become a more effective leader and creating a more positive environment for young athletes.
Sports for Kids organizes free coaching clinics that educate and motivate volunteer youth coaches in various sports. The clinics emphasize the value of sportsmanship and develop coaching skills to help participants become better coaches, and in turn, lead to more positive experiences for area children on the playing field. The mission of Sports for Kids is to help young people from St. Louis live healthier, happier and more productive lives through sports.
