ARCH RIVALRY WEEKEND IN ST. LOUIS KICKS OFF WITH
“ARCH REVELRY” FRIDAY NIGHT

LACLEDE’S LANDING THE PLACE TO BE FOR TIGER AND ILLINI FANS ON EVE OF SEASON OPENER

 

WHAT:           Arch Revelry on the Landing – hosted by Laclede’s Landing and the St. Louis Sports
                        Commission’s Associates Board, a group of area young professionals who volunteer to assist
                        the organization’s efforts.

WHERE:         Laclede’s Landing.  Festivities to take place on First and Second streets. 

WHEN:           5 p.m. to midnight Friday, Aug. 31, 2007.  Activities include:
 
5 p.m.             Arch Revelry begins with DJs playing music from multiple corners of Second Street.
6 p.m.             Fans can test their skills playing football-themed games:
                        Bean bag toss competition (a tailgating favorite)
                        Football toss and field goal challenge
8:30 p.m.       The Mizzou and Illinois pep bands go head-to-head, instrument-to-instrument in a “battle of
                        the bands” at Second and Morgan streets.

WHO:             Mizzou and Illinois fans, pep bands and spirit squads.

WHY:              Tiger and Illini fans descend on St. Louis this weekend for the State Farm Arch Rivalry.  What
                        better way to get the party started than to welcome them to one of St. Louis’ favorite night
                        spots?  Laclede’s Landing will be the place to be for students, alumni and fans of the two
                        schools on the eve of opening day for college football.  “Arch Revelry on the Landing” is one of
                        several free events being organized around the Arch Rivalry game to enhance the fan
                        experience and contribute to the bowl-like atmosphere.  The festivities continue on Saturday
                        with the following official events:

10:30 a.m.       Mizzou Headquarters at Sixth Street and Convention Plaza
11 a.m.             Illini Tailgate at Broadway & Convention Plaza
11 a.m.             Bud Light Tailgate Party featuring live music at the FSN
                          Midwest Stage and fun for all ages at the KFNS Fan Fest at
                          Baer Plaza
1 p.m.               Gates open to the public at the Edward Jones Dome
2:30 p.m.         Kickoff at the Dome (Tickets still available through
                          Ticketmaster)
Postgame        Big Muddy Blues Festival on Laclede’s Landing (continues
                           on Sunday from 3 to 11 p.m.) 

For Arch Rivalry game tickets, log on to Ticketmaster.com, call 314-241-1888 or visit any Ticketmaster outlet.  Fans can also purchase tickets at the Dome box office from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. this week, and 10 a.m. until halftime on Saturday.
