THE "GOOD SPORT" AWARD

PRESENTED BY THE ST. LOUIS SPORTS COMMISSION ASSOCIATES

On November 21, 2009, the AT&T National Sportsmanship Awards will celebrate all that’s right in sports. This remarkable evening honors athletes and personalities from around the nation for their integrity, class, selflessness, perseverance, kindness, community service and overall commitment to sportsmanship. In conjunction with the awards ceremony, the St. Louis Sports Commission’s Associates – a group of area young professionals who volunteer to assist the Sports Commission’s efforts – will present the “Good Sport” award.

The “Good Sport” award is given to a St. Louis area youth or high school athlete who demonstrates the ideals and very meaning of sportsmanship. Candidates for the award should be nominated based on a specific extraordinary act of sportsmanship that occurred during the last 12 months. Nominees whose overall approach, both on and off the field, embodies sportsmanship will also be considered.

The award winner, along with three family members, will be guests of the Associates at the AT&T National Sportsmanship Awards on November 21, 2009, and will be recognized at the event.
