Lauren is used to being in the lead. After all, she spent her entire four-year career as the No. 1 singles tennis player at Xavier University and won more than 80 percent of her matches. Lauren is also a leader off of the court and in the community, helping out with numerous causes at Xavier as well as her hometown of Terre Haute, Ind. She was never overwhelmed by her community service projects. Lauren was a four-year participant in the Take Back the Night rally to raise awareness for domestic violence and was a regular volunteer at the Rape Crisis and Abuse Center of Hamilton County, Ohio. Lauren finished her career as the winningest female tennis player in Xavier history, recording a 115-25 singles mark and a 103-27 doubles record. She earned the Atlantic 10’s Sporting Award in 2004-05 and is only the second person in conference history to garner Student-Athlete of the Year honors in an individual sport three times. An eight-time member of the Dean’s list, Lauren graduated magna cum laude in May 2005. She is currently enrolled in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral program at Saint Louis University.
